Who Is Educare West DuPage?
Educare West DuPage, a model early learning school located in West Chicago, IL in DuPage County, opened its doors in 2012, as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation. Educare serves 182 children from birth to five years old, 10 pregnant women and their families between two locations.
Educare’s comprehensive program incorporates what science says young children need to flourish. Our dual-language program gives young children a solid foundation in English and Spanish. Educare West DuPage empowers parents through leadership programs and parent-child education, making them strong advocates for children and families. We also value community partnerships, and have established relationships with community organizations to offer even more opportunities for our children and families.
Educare West DuPage employees are offered embedded professional development to ensure their skills are continually refined and enhanced. The school is a public-private partnership and is funded through a mix of federal Head Start and Early Head Start funding, Illinois early childhood education funding and child care dollars, and private donations.
Mission
Through partnerships with families and communities Educare West DuPage will lead, inspire, and deliver early childhood education that supports all of our young children and families in reaching their full potential. Our History
Educare West DuPage was founded in 2008. During our first few years, we focused on acquiring a site and raising the necessary capital to construct an early childhood facility, with the goal of expanding access to early childhood care and education in West Chicago, Illinois.
In September of 2011, Educare West DuPage began directly serving children and families in temporary locations while our facility was being built. Our Pearl Road facility was completed in June 2012, and we began serving children and families in early July of 2012.
In November of 2022, Educare West DuPage at Glen Arbor opened four additional birth to three classrooms in a renovated space in the local Glen Arbor Community Church.
